Effects of Moisturizing Cream with Natural Ingredients on Hydration and Persistency

This study was conducted to find out the hydration effect and persistency of moisturizing cream by applying the moisturizing cream made with natural ingredients of Avena Sativa, Morus alba and Ulmus davidiana and the regular moisturizing cream on sale to the face area. The five women with the age of 20s to 30s were chosen. For the measurement of the moist contained in skin, the average amount committed three times on four areas, forehead, both cheeks and chin by Corneometer CM825 was used. The measurement of the oil contained in skin was conducted by Sebumeter SM815, and the term of capacitance (a.u) for the moist amount and the one of photometric reflection (㎍/㎠) for the oil amount were used. This results showed that the moisturizing cream with Avena Sativa has the most statistically significant result in both hydration effect and lasting. And these hydration effect and lasting of Avena Sativa can be supported by the fact that Avena Sativa cream has the best result in oil amount lasted. Therefore, this study may provide useful information for developing moisturizing cream using Avena Sativa that shows great hydration effect and lasting.
