INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS on COSMETIC DEGREE

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research was to investigate cosmetic attitude for women's make-up, relationship among individual characteristics and the degree of make-up. For this aims, two hundred twenty seven female from the age of 20 to the age of 60 living in Seoul, Keongki were answered the questionnaire about a time that take for make-up and feel about women's make-up, image that desire to express in make-up, the degree of make-up. The individual characteristics on the degree of make-up were subjective age and self-esteem, self-concepts. The results of this study are as follows : First, a time that take for make-up was 10 minutes or 20 minutes. Second, there were more respondents with a middle or high degree of make-up than respondents with a low degree of make-up. Third, the image that women desire to express in make-up was intellectual-polished image. The following image was neat image and clear image. It was found out that the degree of make-up was different according to image that desire to take in make-up. Fourth, it was found out that the respondents maintain subjective age identities that are younger than their actual age. The degree of make-up was different according to actual age. A women with 40 age has a higher degree of make-up. Fifth, it was found that the respondents with younger subjective age showed a high degree of make-up. It means that the respondents with younger subjective age use more cosmetics. Sixth, It was found that there was difference in the degree of make-up by self-concepts. The respondents with high degree of self-concepts showed a higher degree of make-up.
