ABSTRACT
This research was aimed at evaluation of effects of acetyl hexapeptide and palmitoyl pentapeptide on reducing the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines. To test this, 20 women aged between 32 and 55 years old were selected, and the preceding team were tested from 7 March 2006. Test was completed within 8 week’s time. Participants were divided into two teams; A team (10 women) consists of the experimental group who contains 14% acetyl hexapeptide and the control group, B team (10 women) comprises the experimental group who contains 14% palmitoyl pentapeptide, and the control group. And, to evaluate effects of these compounds on wrinkles on the skin, participants were requested to use it two times (morning, evening) a day. To examine and judge carefully the efficacy thereof, evaluations were performed through means of questionnaire and a coputer-based image analyzer, and the following conclusions were made: The results from analysis of questionnaires revealed that more participants who belonged to the experimental group than those who belonged to the control group appraised the effects of use of the compound on reduction of appearance of wrinkles in their objective manners that it was not significant, and that there were statistically significant differences. The results from the evaluation of improvements made on appearance of wrinkles on the skin during the 4th week of the period of time with weather abnormality caused by yellow sand wind and dry air using Visioscan, the image analyzer indicated that there were statistically significant differences, and that there were decreases of appearance of wrinkles on the skin in A team as much as 18% in R1, 21% in R2, and 12% in R3, and that there were decreases of appearance of wrinkles on the skin in B team as much as 18% in R1, 23% in R2 and 7.4% in R3. The results from evaluation during the 8th week displayed that the experimental group in A team experienced effect of reducing appearance of wrinkles at the rate of 10%, and the experimental group of B team experienced effect of reducing appearance of wrinkles by 20%. Despite the fact that appearance of wrinkles might have been induced in a more serious fashion due to problematic skin or excessive appearance of corn and callous at the period of time with environmental changes because of the results of researches in which 14% palmitoyl pentapeptide will promote to combine collagen, fibroblast and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) into new whole, the results from the test showed that there were effects of reduction of the appearance of wrinkles on the skin, and that there were no statistical significances.
