ABSTRACT
This study was conducted on selected 10 female participants who are middle aged women (51.20±6.73 years old) and have over BMI 25 (BMI>25). We divided these participants into two groups, the case group (5 women) and control group (5 women). We gave the case group a meridian massage with taking the mulberry leaf powder capsule. In contrast, the control group was given to the meridian massage with taking the starch powder capsule. The result of this study is as follows. Measuring the changes of body composition, percent body fat and waist circumference of both the case group and control group was reduced but it did not show a significant level. According to the measurement of the changes of blood liquid components of both the case and control groups, although Glucose, Cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol decreased, there was no level of significance. However, the result showed a decrease on neutral fat with the significant level. Consequently, it indicates that the mulberry leaf powder capsule has a beneficial effect since the reduction ratio of the case group was higher than the control group. Therefore, this method, which conducting the meridian massage with taking the mulberry leaf powder capsule, can be suggested to middle aged women as a preferred method.
