Ko-Woon Kim, Eun-Jung Doh, Jae-Hee Jang
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to examine the recognition of and responsiveness to a lymph massage. it was because the number of practice of lymph massage was few for the present since medical law do not allow a beauty artist to practic a pressure massage, the inverstifator carried out a Vodder-type lymph massage, one of manual beauty culture massages, in which no pressure was inserted, focusing on facial sensitive skin, in order to examine the improvement of skin. First, a questionnaire survey of 110 women who were living in metropolitan cities was carried out to examine the general aspects, of skin care, the recognition of skin trouble, the awareness of sensitive skin, their responsiveness to a massage when their skin is sensitive, and the recognition of and responsiveness to a lymph massage. Second, the inverstigator selected six subjects who had sensitive skin from the 110 respondents and then practiced a lymph massage twice weekly for four weeks (total eight sessions). During the period of every experiment, the investigator measured moisture contents, fat contents and elasticity and simultaneously carried out a microscopic picture-takin as the above study findings show, study subjects' experience of lymph massage. however, they think the responsiveness of skin to a lymph massage is high. therefore, if their experience of lymph massage increase, their recognition of it will increase too. In addition, this studys's experiment proves that a lymph massage is remarkably effective in the improvement of skin moisture and elasticity. a steady practice of lymph massage to sensitive skin which can have a trouble in the course of moisturizing seems to result in an effective improvement of dried skin and therefore be useful for the betterment of sensitive skin.
