A Study on Detoxification Therapy

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to examine the resources of toxins around us and to suggest the variety of detoxification therapies to maintain our health and beauty in optimal condition by looking at the results of the accumulation of these toxins in the body. There is little doubt that our environment is polluted with toxins and harmful substances. Toxins can damage the body in an insidious and cumulative way. Long term exposure the toxins can result in metabolic and genetic alternations that can affect cell growth, behavior and immune response. The concepts of internal cleansing and detoxification have been around for centuries. Detoxification of the body refers to the cleansing of the bowels, kidneys, lungs, the liver and blood since these are the organs involved in the detoxification of the chemicals and toxins from the body. A wide variety of detoxification programs are available and through these we can maintain optimal health condition and free from diseases. With esthetic purposes the modern trends are to achieve beauty through well-being, the detoxification therapy is a very important step in skin care. The methods of detoxification are diets, vitamin therapy, enzymes therapy, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, algotherapy, oxygen therapy, colon cleansing etc. Therapist combine these methods to according to individual's conditions and through these to achieve internal detoxification .
