ABSTRACT |
The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of essential oils in Aromatherapy and
the variety of methods analysing clients' physical and emotional conditions in rational ways. This
study tried to indicate the effective blending techniques using essential oils based with correct clients'
assessment.
Aromatherapy is a holistic treatment using essential oils which is both effective on mind and
body and the therapist should consider the clients' physical and metal conditions for the most effetive
treatment. However the therapists tend to use the pre-blended products or to choose the essential
oils with therapist's intuition for the blendings. Therefore, it is a very important point to
assess the client's conditions correctly for the effective and professional aromatherapy treatments.
This study examined the different methods for client assessments which are based on theories in
some natural therapies. In addition the therapists should consider some other basic essential oil
theory in blendings such as chemical properites of essential oil and selection of carrier oils, the most
effective methods of aromatherapy and homecare, the blending rate and contraindications, testing the
aroma of final blending. |
