Changes of the Skin in Rats after Inducement of Dry Skin
Hyun-Sook) Na
ABSTRACT
The present study was conducted to establish the symptoms of dry skin. In this study, the back was treated daily with cutaneous application of kitchen detergent for three weeks. After dry skin induced in rats by detergent, dry skin symptoms were estimated by visual scoring, protein concentration analysis, histological changes and total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL and LDL levels. Fissure lasted longer than erythema and scaling in visual scoring. Histological analysis of the skin reveals abnormally accentuated keratinization, parakeratosis and increased inflammatory cells in dry skin. There were increases (5.26ug/ml, 7.93ug/ml. 13.08ug/ml) of total protein contentation every per week after dry skin inducement. Dry skin induced protein bands are largely fainted as compared with control group's band. There were significant decreases (G1:p=0.028, G2:p=0.014, G3:p=0.001) in the levels of HDL and significant increases (G2:p=0.010, G3:p=0.001) in the levels of LDL compared with that of control group.
