ABSTRACT
This paper investigates the effectiveness of far infrared ray radiators and TDP devices on the hair loss. A clinic-based research is conducted to evaluate the performance of each therapy to apply the result to hair loss treatment programs. Subjects of the research are 445 (233 male, 221 female) visitors of researcher's scalp-care center from 2006. 1 to 2008. 12. All subjects more of less have hair-loss symptoms. According to the relative amount of telogen-stage hair, subjects are categorized into 3 groups. (15~35%: - normal, 35~45%: serious, 45%~: very serious). They are divided again into 2 groups and treatments are applied on their head per once a week and twice a week, respectively. Effects of far IR and TDP are observed after 24 times of treatments. Hair-map is generated by a visual analyzing instrument connected to PC.A microscope on the instrument is used to check the increase/decrease of the number of hair. Results of the research show that the relative amount of increased hair of TDP group is 2.6% higher than that of far IR group when treatment are applied once a week. When treatments are applied twice a week, the differenc is 2.1%. From these results,we can conclude that TDP is more effective than far IR in hair loss treatments.
