Effects of Foot Reflexology on Reduction in Abdominal Obesity
Jong-Im Kim
ABSTRACT
In this study a clinical test was conducted for the purpose of proving the effectiveness of the joint use of foot reflexogy as a strategy for heightening the effectiveness in controlling abdominal obesity on the basis of many prior researches in aroma therapies and foot reflexogy. The results indicated that foot reflexogy contributed to a decrease in abdominal circumstance as a whole rather than to a decrease in subcutaneous fat thickness. This seems to be because foot care has an effect of exercise of the whole body; for this reason, it is now frequently applied in hospitals as an alternative to exercise of the whole body for patients with difficulties in exercising. It is therefore believed that the combined use of foot reflexogy with dermal aesthetical control for reducing abdominal obesity can contribute to an increase of the effectiveness.
