A Study on the Status of Functional Food in Esthetician - focusing on women in the 30's

ABSTRACT
The beauty industry has been growing rapidly as the interests in the beauty has been increased due to the improvement of economic and cultural standard of life. Interest in management of skin was increasing, and the main clients are women. A women is empirical customer rathan rational customer. This study was performed to identify the status of health functional food intake and related factors in order to contribute to public health improvement through the right choice and use of health functional food in aestheticians at skin-care shops. Of 250 questionnaires, 246 were returned. A total of 236 follow-up lists of questions which were answered honestly, and were analyzed.. Through a questionnaire, we surveyed the general information of perception, the purchase ,order and the perception of functional food. The main reason of taking health foods was to maintain and improve their health. In regard to purchase motive, 'Invitation to family and friends' was most selected by 31.7%. The most popular health food was Vitamin supplement(54.7%). The next were ginseng steamed red supplement (44.5%), mineral supplement (39.0%) in order. As a result, the astheticians working at skin-care taked health functional food to maintain and promotion the health. Accordingly that we will pay more attention to health promotion by establishing the social system so that the consumer choose right health functional food.
